The Calm at the end of the storm...

And then there was QUIET! Aahhh... nothing better to end the day. Today was rough. Graves was cranky and clingy. My guess is his silly shots he had yesterday. Lili was starving for attention, she was loud and wild. It was a long day for mommy! I wouldn't trade them for anything, but there is nothing better than two sleeping kids to finish a day off!

Graves loves his stuffed animals. He sleeps with his bear every night. This is the sight I found when I glanced in to check on him.

Our paci girl - Liliana is so in love with her paci it isn't funny! I have been trying to talk to her about getting rid of it soon. I was really hoping her two year molars would come in so we could cross that bridge first. She also loves her pillow and blankies. She cannot sleep without at least one blanket.

Potty Training

Our big accomplishment with Liliana the past month has been potty training! Yes, Liliana is now fully potty trained - with the exception of a few night time accidents. She decided that she was ready and she did it. We have been "practicing" the last few months and talking about it and it was just a matter of getting her to where she wanted to use the "big girl potty". I am glad that I took a totally laid back approach to it because I think that is what works best for Liliana (anyone that knows her knows that she is quite strong-willed and if pushed to do something will likely NOT do it just because that is what you want her to do!) It was completely stress-free for both her and I. I'm very proud of her!
Now, if I could only find Thomas the Train and Mickey Mouse undies for girls! She'd be thrilled! :D And yes, her hair is always that wild when she wakes up in the morning, LOL.

My Baby Boy is 6 Months Old

I can't believe that Graves is already six months old! He's getting so big! He weighs 17 pounds and 10 ounces (compared to Liliana's 12 pounds, 1 ounce) and he is 26" long (Liliana was 24" at six months). What is even funnier is that at 1 year old Liliana was 16 pounds, 13 ounces and 27". My big boy! Actually - he's quite average as far as the "percentile charts" go, but Liliana is such a petite little Monkey that he seems so big!

This week Graves has done a lot of neat things. He has started babbling more and more. I really think he knows what he's saying to us - it's very cute to hear his tones of voice changing. His smile has changed too, he has the biggest grin ever! He rolls all over the floor (which brings on the new challenge of trying to convince his big sister that she needs to keep things such as pennies and little horses off the floor ;) ) and "crawls" in circles. He is very quick in his circular motions - if he would only learn to move those legs with him. (Or perhaps I am wishing a dreadful thing on myself, it will be another new challenge to keep up with Liliana AND Graves all over the house!) He has completely mastered sitting up unassisted over the past month and a half. He loves to sit and play with toys (especially if Liliana will play "with" him!). He is still the sweet cuddley "little" baby though. He loves to snuggle!

Bath Time is Fun

One of Liliana's favorite activities is taking a bath with her baby brother! For some reason it is so much fun for her. She asks to take a bath with Graves every day :) She loves to sit in his bath tub with him and splash him. She will, once and a while, even share a toy or two. She is such a wonderful big sister and it is amazing to see her in her moments of pure happiness. What is almost as beautiful to see is how excited Graves gets when his big sister splashes him and plays with him. Lili is absolutely Graves' favorite person in the whole world!

This Summer, a recap

Graves

Liliana's Favorite Ride - The Carousel

Meeting Dora and Diago with Madison and Lucas

Graves and Amen

Best Friends, Liliana and Juliana

We have had a lot of great times this summer as a family.

We went to the NC Zoo in Asheboro in June. It was my first time going, and of course Lili and Graves' too. We went with my brother Jeremy and his family, Crystal, Juliana, and Amen. Juliana and Lili are best friends. They have a special connection that is just amazing! I hope that Amen and Graves have the same bond. Liliana and Graves got to spend some time with "G-pa" as Lili calls him, my dad. They had a good time while Ira and I went to the movies for the first time in 2 1/2 years!

We had a fun Fourth of July this year. Liliana and I walked in the local parade with our mom's group. Ira drove the car for us and Graves rode with him. It was a lot of fun and Lili really loved it! She was so cute waving to everyone as we walked by. In the afternoon we went to Tweetsie with Luke, Susan, Madison, and Lucas. We had a great time dispite Ira almost getting sick from the rides. The fireworks were awesome, Graves slept in the car and Lili sat on Daddy's lap. She, surprisingly enough, loved the fireworks!

Liliana and I have made a few trips to Tweetsie with Susan and the kids. It's been a lot of fun! We got to see Thomas the Train and meet Dora and Diego. Lili loves spending time with her cousins! (Sshh, don't tell but I like getting to ride the carnival rides with the kids too!) We're looking forward to going again next weekend and seeing the Frisbee Dogs!

Welcome
